
Índice de Precios al Productor (IPP) for Administrative and Support Services registered the largest monthly increase among the main economic activities measured by the Banco Central de Reserva (BCR) during july 2016. According to official data, the indicator rose from 133.43 points in june to 135.27 points in july, representing an increase of 1.84 points, equivalent to a growth of 1.38%.
The IPP measures the change in prices received by producers for the goods and services they offer. In this case, the result reflects that prices within the Administrative and Support Services sector increased during July compared to the previous month.
Data from the BCR shows that this sector led the positive changes recorded between june and july 2016. The second largest increase was in Accommodation and Food Services, whose index rose from 159.18 to 159.52 points, a growth of 0.34 points, equivalent to approximately 0.21%.
Other sectors that registered increases included Manufacturing, which advanced from 144.04 to 144.40 points, a change of 0.25%; Education, which rose from 153.11 to 153.20 points, equivalent to 0.06%; and Professional, Scientific, and Technical Activities, which increased from 102.76 to 102.80 points, for a change of approximately 0.04%.

Likewise, Real Estate Activities increased from 129.03 to 129.06 points (0.02%), while Arts, Entertainment, and Recreational Activities rose from 144.63 to 144.66 points (0.02%). Meanwhile, Information and Telecommunications, Other Service Activities, and Electricity, Gas, Steam, and Air Conditioning Supply registered marginal increases of approximately 0.01%.
In contrast, two activities remained unchanged during the period analyzed. These were water supply, sewerage, waste management, and sanitation activities, which maintained an index of 123.21 points, and human health and social assistance activities, which remained at 125.46 points in both june and july.
The only sector that registered a monthly decrease was Transportation and Storage, whose index fell from 125.83 points in june to 125.59 points in july, a drop of 0.24 points, equivalent to approximately 0.19%.

The year-on-year comparison also shows growth for Administrative and Support Services. In july 2025, the index stood at 131.56 points, while in july 2026 it reached 135.27 points. This represents an increase of 3.71 points over twelve months, equivalent to a growth of 2.82%, reflecting that prices in this sector were above the levels observed a year earlier.
Overall, the country’s total PPI rose from 139.62 points in june to 139.88 points in july 2026, an increase of 0.26 points. Within this context, the 1.38% growth recorded by administrative and support services activities stood out as the largest monthly change among the activities reported by the BCR.
