El Salvador is expanding job opportunities for its workers abroad by adding Italy as a new destination for its Programa de Migración Laboral, the Ministry of Labor announced. With this addition, the European nation becomes the sixth destination for the initiative, which seeks to facilitate employment opportunities for salvadoran professionals, technicians, and workers.
As part of this new phase, an initial group of salvadoran workers traveled to Italy to take up jobs under the conditions established by the program. Minister of Labor Rolando Castro highlighted that this group consists of technicians and workers from various departments across the country, aiming to involve workers from different regions of El Salvador.
Castro noted that this initial group represents one of the largest contingents of technicians and workers sent through the Programa de Migración Laboral. During the send-off ceremony, the official wished the participants success and stated that their involvement could help open new opportunities for other salvadorans seeking employment abroad.
The inclusion of Italy expands the program’s geographic reach and opens new possibilities for salvadoran workers looking to gain work experience outside the country. The Ministry of Labor emphasized that these opportunities cater to various profiles—including professionals, technicians, and general workers—depending on the job options available in the destination countries.
