The Director General de la Dirección General de Aduanas of El Salvador, Benjamín Mayorga, participated in the presentation of the 2026 BASC El Salvador Awards, a recognition that highlights companies committed to security and trust in the country’s logistics chain.
During the event, Mayorga congratulated the award-winning organizations and emphasized that several of them hold Operador Económico Autorizado (OEA), certification, a distinction that endorses compliance with international standards for security, transparency, and best practices in foreign trade.
Recognition of security and continuous improvement
The BASC Awards recognize companies that rigorously implement the BASC International Security Standards and Standards, focused on strengthening risk prevention in the supply chain, promoting business integrity, and ensuring reliable processes in international trade.

This initiative originated in BASC Pichincha in 2009 and has since become established nationally and internationally, serving as a platform to showcase best practices in logistics security.
Institutional support for the private sector
The head of Customs reiterated the institution’s ongoing support for the business sector, emphasizing their collaborative efforts to facilitate legitimate trade, streamline operations, and strengthen the country’s competitiveness.

He explained that the Dirección General de Aduanas promotes tools, programs, and processes aimed at simplifying procedures and reinforcing security controls, with the goal of consolidating a safer and more efficient supply chain.
The participation of OEA certified companies among the award recipients reflects, according to authorities, the progress of the salvadoran private sector in adopting international standards, which contributes to building greater confidence in global markets and strengthening El Salvador’s position in foreign trade.
