The Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM) has carried out a series of control operations in the municipalities of La Libertad Este and La Libertad Costa. These operations, which are being developed, are focused on verifying the prices and quality of fuels available at service stations in these areas. The main objective is to ensure that consumers pay the correct price for fuels and receive the exact volume they are paying for.
As part of these actions, rigorous inspections are carried out to check that the reference prices are clearly visible at the dispensing pumps and on the service station billboards. This measure seeks to ensure transparency in transactions and protect consumers from possible irregularities in the prices stipulated for this period, which runs from august 6 to 19.
In addition, a detailed analysis of fuel quality is carried out. Inspectors from the Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas carry out tests to ensure that fuels are free of particulates and meet optimum octane and cetane ratings. Fuel quality is essential for the proper functioning of vehicles and the reduction of polluting emissions.
Precision calibrated equipment is used for sampling and testing. Among the equipment used are volumetric containers and thermometers, which make it possible to verify that the fuel is at the correct temperature and that the volumes are accurate. These instruments ensure accuracy in the measurement and analysis of fuel quality.
The actions deployed by the institution seek to reinforce consumer confidence in the fuel market. Through exhaustive price and quality control, the aim is to ensure that the price, volume and quality of the fuels offered are fair and adequate, thus contributing to consumer protection and the correct regulation of the sector.
