The didactic farms were inaugurated today and machinery was delivered to the Instituto Nacional “Dr. Francisco Martínez” (INFRAMS), as part of an initiative aimed at benefiting students of the agricultural technical high school. This project, financed with US$1.5 million in japanese cooperation, seeks to modernize agricultural education in El Salvador.
The works are part of a project for academic improvement and strengthening of education in this area, which has been underway since 2023 with the support of the Government of Japan. The initiative promotes the incorporation of new technologies and work methods, the updating of the curriculum, and the rehabilitation, modernization, and equipping of practical-productive learning spaces.
In addition, the project is also being implemented at the Instituto Nacional “14 de Julio de 1875”in Morazán, where infrastructure and teaching quality are being improved.
At INFRAMS, the infrastructure has been improved and made suitable for practical teaching in fields such as poultry, pig and cattle farming. New areas have also been built to ensure quality education. The Vice Chancellor underscored the positive impact of this initiative for the development and sustainability of the country’s agriculture and livestock farming, thus benefiting the population in general.
The Minister of Education, Mauricio Pineda, pointed out that the agricultural and agroindustrial sector is vital for El Salvador’s economic growth. This project not only provides new opportunities for students to improve their skills, but also opens doors for the development of these areas.
