Deputy minister of Transportation Nelson Reyes announced the addition of two new digital procedures for the public transportation sector on the platform www.simple.sv .These online procedures are part of President Nayib Bukele’s commitment to modernize and streamline administrative processes, facilitating access and reducing resolution times.
The procedures enabled are:
• Proof of VAT exemption for the entry or replacement of units: Intended for operators who require exemption from value-added tax on the purchase or replacement of public transport vehicles. For this procedure, the applicant must log in to the platform with their Digital Identity, fill out the legal representation form (identifying whether the procedure is personal or by a third party), verify the permit information, and register the vehicles with their corresponding documents, as applicable (imported vehicles must be from 2015 or later, and those being replaced must attach their registration card).
• Tariff Certification Application: This procedure allows concessionaires to request official certification of applicable tariffs. Users must log in with their Digital Identity, complete the applicant and owner information, register their vehicle license plates, and confirm the data before paying and downloading the certification. The process takes an estimated maximum of five business days, which is significantly faster than the previous procedure.

Both procedures improve transparency and administrative efficiency in the sector, as well as offering online tracking to check the status and required documents, directly from the user’s personal profile on the platform.
With these initiatives, the government continues to strengthen the public transport sector with more accessible services for operators and better customer service for users.
