A US$3.8 million investment enabled the construction and delivery of a housing complex in the capital district, municipality of San Salvador Centro, directly benefiting 64 families from the Acovipri de R.L. and Acoviamfu de R.L. cooperatives, as part of efforts to improve quality of life and ensure decent housing in the country.
The project was developed with the support of the Government of El Salvador, in coordination with the Government of Italy and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, reflecting a joint effort aimed at strengthening housing security for salvadoran families.
The official handover ceremony was attended by Housing Minister Michelle Sol; the Italian Ambassador to El Salvador, Paolo Rozo; the regional director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Paolo Gallizioli; and the director of the Historic Center Authority, Adriana Larín.

The housing complex includes not only 64 apartments but also spaces designed to foster community development and the well-being of residents. Notable features include a playroom, multipurpose rooms, a basketball court, and commercial spaces that will allow families to generate additional income.
According to officials, this project is part of a broader strategy to provide housing solutions for communities organized into cooperatives, promoting safe, functional, and livable environments.

The Italian ambassador emphasized that such initiatives demonstrate concrete results of international cooperation, benefiting a total of 180 people and contributing to social development in the country. For her part, the Minister of Housing noted that families now can access their own safe living space with adequate living conditions.
In addition, it was reported that this is not the only project completed this year, as a similar project involving 40 apartments was previously carried out, reflecting the continuity of the housing programs promoted by the government.

During the event, a commemorative plaque was also unveiled in recognition of the joint effort between national and international institutions that made the project possible.
With this initiative, the authorities reaffirm their commitment to continue promoting projects that contribute to the well-being of the population through the construction of decent housing and the strengthening of urban development in El Salvador.
