The Consejo de Negocios México-El Salvador (Conmexsal) and the Mexican Embassy in El Salvador announced the First Mexico-El Salvador Binational Business Congress, to be held on august 21 and 22, 2026, at the Biblioteca Nacional de El Salvador (BINAES), in San Salvador. The event, themed “Innovation and Business,” will bring together business leaders, investors, government officials, representatives from trade associations, and entrepreneurs from both countries, with additional participation from international companies.

The congress is being organized against a backdrop of sustained growth in Mexican investment in El Salvador. According to data from the Banco Central de Reserva (BCR), between january and september 2025, the country received US$3,577.5 million in Mexican investment, a record high and 2.7% higher than that recorded during the same period of the previous year.

The congress emerged as a joint strategy between the mexican government and the mexican business sector with operations in El Salvador, and is part of the work that Conmexsal has been carrying out for the past four years to stimulate investment and trade between the two countries. Its overall objective is to strengthen the economic and commercial relationship between Mexico and El Salvador through a space for dialogue, networking, and the exchange of experiences that promotes new opportunities for investment, trade, and innovation.

José Luis Netzahualcóyotl, president of Conmexsal, explained that the event is designed to generate business flows in both directions. “It’s not a one-way congress. We want it to be a two-way street: for El Salvador to see an opportunity in Mexico, and for mexicans to see an investment platform in El Salvador”, he said.

Over the two days, there will be an opening ceremony with authorities from both countries, keynote addresses, panels on investment, trade, and innovation, presentations of business opportunities in Mexico and El Salvador, networking and business relationship-building sessions, and an exchange of experiences among companies and trade associations. A thematic directory will allow attendees to connect with suppliers, clients, and strategic partners according to their sector.

Confirmed companies include Aeroméxico, Grupo Cyeemex through its salvadoran subsidiary Cyeemsal, and Infra, a mexican company in the industrial sector. Organizers also expect the participation of companies from Europe. The event will feature representatives from universities across the country, with the aim of integrating students and young entrepreneurs into the business dialogue. Organizers anticipate the attendance of more than 200 businesspeople, investors, government representatives, and trade association members from both countries.

The congress is open to companies of any size and sector, as well as entrepreneurs interested in exploring the mexican or salvadoran markets. Registration is completely free, in keeping with Conmexsal’s non-profit nature. “The goal is not to make a profit. It’s to extend an invitation so that every businessperson and entrepreneur who wants to explore this opportunity has access to this platform”, Netzahualcóyotl emphasized.

To register, interested parties can contact Conmexsal at (+503) 7620-2939, or the Mexican Embassy in El Salvador at (+503) 7582-0117.
The expected outcome of the congress is to consolidate a binational forum that encourages new investments, strengthens trade relations between Mexico and El Salvador, and generates long-term business cooperation opportunities. Registration details will be announced soon through Conmexsal’s official channels.
