The Ministry of Housing announced a historic investment of US$210 million in housing projects for 2025, according to Housing Minister Michelle Sol. In addition, the government expects these projects to generate local employment and contribute to reduce the housing deficit in the country.
This figure includes US$160 million in credits from the Fondo Social para la Vivienda (FSV) and US$20 million from the Fondo Nacional de Vivienda Popular (Fonavipo), earmarked for key projects such as La Bretaña and Cocodrilos.
The minister emphasized that these resources are intended to serve thousands of low-income families. She also pointed out that this tuesday, january 28, more than 200 families will receive their property deeds, putting an end to years of legal uncertainty under the administration of ARGOZ, an entity that failed to deliver the titles despite decades of waiting.
“We are doing social justice. ARGOZ had 670 lots, and many of them have already been sold, but when we took office, there was no clarity as to how many were being administered”, said the official, underlining her portfolio’s efforts in this area.
At the same time, the government plans to benefit more than 40,000 families with new housing programs and the regularization of properties. “We want to guarantee a decent roof over everyone’s head, and these actions are only the beginning of a profound transformation”, said Minister Sol.
With these efforts, the government seeks to solve historical problems in access to housing, while reinforcing its commitment to the most vulnerable communities, consolidating an inclusive and sustainable development model.
