The Secretaría de Comercio e Inversiones announced the inauguration of the new Saltex San Diego plant, part of the Grupo ECON. This project represents a US$23 million investment and will contribute to the creation of more than 45 direct jobs, strengthening the construction industry and the country’s economic development.
According to the Ministry, the new plant incorporates state-of-the-art French and German technology, as well as highly automated processes, which will optimize production and increase efficiency in the manufacturing of materials for the construction sector.
This investment is part of the growth experienced by the real estate and tourism infrastructure sector in El Salvador, especially in the La Libertad Costa region, where various public and private projects have been developed in recent years to boost economic activity and attract new investment.

During the inauguration, the Secretary of Commerce and Investment, Miguel Kattán, emphasized that these types of projects reflect the private sector’s confidence in continuing to invest in the country and generate employment opportunities for the population.
“Seeing investments like these, the growth of the construction industry, seeing the development of this area that was completely neglected, Libertad Costa, and now seeing how an entire country is moving forward, growing, and seeking a better future for new generations gives us the certainty that we are on the right track”, the official said.

Authorities indicated that the incorporation of high-level technology will strengthen the company’s production capacity, while also helping to meet the growing demand for materials for residential, commercial, and tourism projects.
With this US$23 million investment, the new plant not only expands the industrial capacity of the Grupo ECON, but also generates more than 45 new direct jobs, contributing to economic dynamism and strengthening the construction sector in El Salvador.
