With the support of its experience and commitment since 1978, Hospital de Diagnóstico announced the opening of its pediatric emergency care area in Colonia Escalón.
These areas, located next to the emergency room of Hospital de Diagnóstico Escalón and Colonia Médica, offer a patient-friendly environment to meet the needs of pediatric services, from outpatient care to more complex emergencies provided by staff pediatricians available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at both locations.
“Our Pediatric Emergency Program is designed to provide a unique level of care for our youngest emergency patients. The opening of this service in Colonia Escalon will help fill a need in treatment for children and their families during evenings and weekends, offered by a team of highly trained professionals in a child-friendly and safe environment”, commented Elizabeth Brito, CEO of the Hospital de Diagnóstico.
Since 1989 Hospital de Diagnóstico has offered pediatric emergency care in Colonia Médica. This new opening will also be staffed by a team of highly trained professionals, including specialized nurses and pediatric physicians with extensive experience, who will attend to the patient while the family’s primary pediatrician or specialist arrives. In addition, they have state-of-the-art equipment for the care of children, both in hospitalization and in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ensuring comprehensive and specialized care at all times.
Patients will receive treatment for accidents or minor illnesses in a pediatric environment, and will also have at their disposal the state-of-the-art medical services offered by the Diagnostic Hospital, guaranteeing that patients will find everything they need in one place, such as imaging studies, laboratory, hospitalization and specialized emergencies. The Hospital de Diagnóstico facilities are equipped with innovative medical technology. In the pediatric area, the facility has invested in a dragger ventilator for children and neonates, an electrocardiograph for children, and an echocardiograph for children, among other medical innovations available for the prompt and efficient recovery of the patient.
“Keeping all services in one place reinforces the comprehensive offer of the Diagnostic Hospital, consolidating our position as the most advanced medical network in the country. This approach allows us to provide efficient, high-quality care, ensuring that our patients find everything they need in one place”, said Brito.
In addition, the creation of a welcoming environment has also been a key aspect to consider in the creation of the experience of the pediatric area of the Diagnostic Hospital, with a design that has a children’s theme. Characters have been incorporated such as Dr. Leo, a brave lion that is given to children who have a procedure to accompany them in this process and Nurse Jira and Nurse Ospi, these are the heroes who take care of the children looking to create a warmer environment for them to feel calm while they are being treated.
The investment made by the hospital for this new service exceeded US$200,000, which has allowed them to equip both centers with modern facilities and specialized personnel. In addition, 20 direct jobs have been generated, including pediatricians, nurses and specialized medical personnel.
