Bancoagrícola received an award from Tin Marín, the Museo de los Niños, for its 18 years of support for educational initiatives that promote financial literacy among salvadoran children.

The recognition awarded by Tin Marín highlights the continuity of this partnership and Bancoagrícola’s contribution to the development of educational experiences for future generations. For both institutions, this partnership represents an opportunity to continue bringing financial literacy to children through spaces that spark their curiosity and turn learning into a meaningful experience.

“We are delighted and proud to be part of this initiative and to have witnessed its evolution over the years. We remain committed to promoting initiatives that bring financial education to new generations and contribute to their development”, said Rafael Barraza, CEO of Bancoagrícola.

Throughout its history, Tin Marín has welcomed more than 3.5 million visitors. This year, it celebrates 27 years of pioneering the development of play-based educational experiences, promoting meaningful learning for salvadoran children and their families. The partnership with Bancoagrícola has made it possible to create spaces where children can explore concepts such as saving, planning, and managing money in a practical way that relates to their daily lives.

“At Tin Marín, we believe that play is a powerful tool for learning skills that will serve children throughout their lives. Over the past 18 years, our partnership with Bancoagrícola has enabled us to bring financial education to thousands of children and families through interactive experiences that teach them about saving, planning, and decision-making. We are deeply grateful for this collaboration, which allows us to continue creating spaces where learning through play also means preparing for life”, said Juan Carlos Novoa, executive director of Tin Marín.

The first exhibit resulting from this partnership was called “El Banco de los Niños” it was a space that invited visitors to learn how banks work and how to manage money through fun activities. Later, the exhibit was redesigned and set up as a mini-bank branch, featuring seven interactive areas for learning financial concepts.

In 2021, Bancoagrícola and Tin Marín took another step forward with the opening of “Banconautas,” an exhibit designed as a space adventure where children can learn about budgeting, the differences between needs, wants, and dreams, and the importance of saving. The experience incorporates a space theme and interactive missions that allow children to explore these concepts through play, connecting financial learning to everyday situations.

Through these initiatives, Bancoagrícola and Tin Marín have remained committed to financial education from an early age, promoting knowledge and habits that can guide Salvadorans throughout their lives. Through fun and interactive experiences, children could become familiar with concepts such as saving, planning, and managing money, and understanding their importance in everyday decision-making. These programs also complement what children learn at home and in school by offering opportunities to explore financial concepts in a hands-on way.

This 18-year track record reflects the value of the collaboration between both institutions in bringing financial education to new generations.
