As of september 3 and until september 16, 2024, fuel prices nationwide will experience a reduction. Drivers will be able to benefit from a reduction of up to US$0.14 in premium gasoline, US$0.10 in regular gasoline and US$0.06 in diesel, according to the announcement made by the Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM).
Among the new reference prices launched by the DGEHM, it is highlighted that, in the central zone, premium gasoline will be offered at US$4.07 per gallon, while regular gasoline will be marketed at US$3.94, and diesel will cost US$3.53. This decrease represents a relief for consumers.
In the western part of the country, prices will be slightly different. Premium gasoline will be priced at US$4.08, regular gasoline at US$3.95, and diesel at US$3.54. Although the variations are minimal, they reflect the dynamics of transportation and distribution costs in this region.
Finally, in the eastern zone, prices will be the highest compared to the other regions. Premium gasoline will cost US$4.11 per gallon, regular gasoline US$3.99, and diesel US$3.58. Despite being the region with the highest prices, drivers will still benefit from the announced reductions.
These new prices will be in effect during the first two weeks of september and are the result of fluctuations in international oil markets. The estimated drop of 500 thousand barrels per day in China’s hydrocarbon consumption for the month of august 2024, is influencing the downward trend of hydrocarbon prices in the international market.
