
The Legislative Assembly approved a statement reaffirming the ties of friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect between El Salvador and the United States, in the context of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence, to be celebrated on july 4th.
The document was approved with the vote of 60 deputies and highlights the bilateral relationship built between the two nations over the years, based on cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, security, education, technology, and cultural exchange.
In the statement, the legislators recognized the founding principles of the United States, based on freedom, democratic representation, and respect for fundamental rights, as well as the support it has provided to El Salvador in various areas.

Furthermore, the commitment to continue promoting initiatives that strengthen investment, trade, and economic development was reaffirmed, with the goal of generating well-being for the people of both countries.
Congressman Walter Alemán of the Nuevas Ideas party stated that the commemoration of this date represents a historical legacy that has influenced institutional and democratic development beyond its borders.
Similarly, Caleb Navarro, deputy leader of the Nuevas Ideas caucus, highlighted the importance of the salvadoran diaspora in the United States, which he described as a key bridge in the bilateral relationship.

According to the legislator, salvadorans abroad have contributed to the economic and social growth of both nations through their work and effort, in addition to strengthening cultural and human ties between the two countries.
With this statement, the Legislative Assembly reaffirms its intention to continue strengthening a strategic relationship that, as stated, is based on shared values and cooperation.
