This wednesday, the Defensoría del Consumidor (DC) activated a new nationwide deployment at the Aeropuerto Internacional de El Salvador San Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez. The initiative seeks to protect consumers during the capital’s festivities in honor of the Divine Savior of the World, within the framework of the august 2024 Vacation Plan.
The President of the Defensoría del Consumidor , Ricardo Salazar, together with the inspection team, carried out the first verifications in the airport establishments.
The operation, which runs from july 31 to august 7, 2024, includes advice and reception of consumer complaints at various points of attention, such as shopping malls, parks and squares with a high concentration of people. In addition, compliance with the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law (LPC) and the technical regulations applicable to establishments that sell food and beverages will be verified.
Salazar also informed that consumers will have assistance and support through non-face-to-face means, such as WhatsApp and the 910 call center. This will facilitate access to the Defensoría del Consumidor for those who cannot physically go to the points of attention.
With this deployment, the Defensoría del Consumidor seeks to ensure that salvadorans enjoy the holidays with the assurance that their rights will be protected, strengthening confidence in government institutions.
