The quality of salvadoran products and the work done by the Government of El Salvador in opening markets have allowed more than 140 salvadoran products to expand their presence in foreign markets. Currently, the Salvadoran export basket is composed of around 900 products, according to data from the Banco Central de Reserva (BCR).
Minister María Luisa Hayem pointed out that among these products with the greatest rebound are food, beverages, non-metallic mineral products, chemical substances and products, and electrical equipment.
“The quality of salvadoran manufactured products and the work done by the Government, have been key to this”, said the official.
She detailed that among the nations that received national products for the first time are economies such as Switzerland, Spain, Bolivia, China, India, Belgium, Colombia, Morocco, and Thailand.
One of the sectors that has stood out in the expansion of its exports during the past year is the pharmaceutical sector, since according to data collected in the Multisectoral Report of the Pharmaceutical Industry 2023, the country managed to enter and expand its marketing volumes in South America.
