The Embassy of El Salvador in Germany recently held a tasting event for salvadoran coffee and spirits in Berlin as part of its economic diplomacy strategy to promote the country’s exportable goods and introduce its products to potential buyers in the German market.
The event was supported by Núcleo Café Berlin and Main Lane Roasters, both german companies, and was aimed at importers and business owners in the food, beverage, and hospitality sectors. Representatives from the Escuela de Café de Berlín and Asociación Alemana del Café also participated.
During the event, various varieties of Salvadoran coffee were presented, including Pacas, Pacamara, Cuscatleco, and Bourbon, allowing attendees to experience firsthand the characteristics of the national coffee bean and its potential in the german market.

The president of Instituto Salvadoreño del Café, Mauricio Sansivirini, participated virtually and explained the characteristics and processes that add value to the quality and flavor of salvadoran coffee, known as the “golden bean.”
The event also featured the participation of Ron Guazapa and Luna Spirits, salvadoran liquor brands that presented their products and shared their experiences entering the international market, thereby broadening the range of national offerings showcased to German business leaders.
From a commercial standpoint, the event provided an opportunity to establish direct contact with potential importers and representatives of establishments that could become buyers of salvadoran products. The promotion aims to facilitate new opportunities for domestic brands and producers abroad.

Sebastián von Spalding, owner of Núcleo Café Berlin, expressed his hope that more importers and representatives from the food and beverage sector will discover the quality of salvadoran products and become customers. El Salvador’s ambassador to Germany, Florencia Eugenia Vilanova de von Oehsen, thanked the business leaders for their attendance and invited them to support the country’s brands and producers.
The coffee and liqueur tasting is part of economic diplomacy efforts to promote El Salvador’s exportable goods. The event in Berlin provided an opportunity to showcase domestic products directly to German market stakeholders and create new opportunities for salvadoran producers and companies to establish business connections.
