
The Asociación Salvadoreña de Industriales (ASI), as part of the commemoration of the National Day of Industry, celebrated the Premios ASI 2025, which are a public recognition to the industrial sector for its valuable contribution to the country and for being one of the main bases to promote national social and economic development.

The diverse activities of the industrial sector are fundamental for El Salvador, due to its contribution to the progress and welfare of the population. The industry, from its different branches, has been characterized for being a key engine in the economic and social development of the country. For this reason, the Legislative Assembly declared june 12 of each year as the National Day of Industry.
As part of this celebration, ASI presented the Industrial Plan of El Salvador 2025-2029, a comprehensive proposal that brings together the main bets of the sector, defining a roadmap that will allow its development, strengthening and modernization.

This document, focused on achieving a real reindustrialization of the country, proposes a total of 66 strategic actions, distributed in 12 major objectives, designed to transform the national productive apparatus, improve competitiveness, attract investment, and generate employment.

Currently, the industrial sector represents 96.3 % of total exports of goods (2024), contributes 23 % of total employment (as of january 2025) and contributes 12.0 % of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
