The Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) will have a budget of over US$485 million by 2025, as reported by its president, Judge Henry Alexander Mejía, during a meeting with the Finance Committee of the Legislative Assembly. This amount, supported by the General Law of the National Budget 2025, will be used to finance various projects and programs of the institution.
Exactly the budget is US$485,725,285 and of the allocated funds, US$77 million will be allocated to the acquisition of essential goods and services, such as real estate leases and basic services necessary for institutional operation. This component ensures that the operations of the SCJ continue efficiently and without interruptions.
51.1% of the total budget will be allocated to the administration of justice in courts and integrated judicial centers. This approach seeks to guarantee quality in the care of users of the judicial system, strengthening services in the spaces where justice is administered.
During the presentation, the institutional general manager, Juan Chávez, broke down the priority areas of the budget, which include institutional management and administration, legal affairs, administration of justice, physical infrastructure and the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML). Each area will receive specific funds to meet its objectives.
This budget reinforces the CSJ’s commitment to improving judicial services in the country, ensuring adequate resources for efficient and quality administration of justice. The allocation highlights the importance of investing in infrastructure and services that benefit both citizens and the judicial system in general.
