The Ministry of Economy of El Salvador continues to demonstrate its commitment to change and modernization of the State for the benefit of the population. Recently, Minister María Luisa Hayem participated in the International Economic Forum of Latin America and the Caribbean 2025, organized by the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) in Panama.
In this space, El Salvador was the only country that had the opportunity to share its experiences on the progress achieved in various areas, such as security, health, infrastructure, economy and modernization of the State.

Minister Hayem highlighted the relevance of the event and the interest generated among the participants. “It was important to see the interest of different delegations from all over Latin America who decided to participate in this session and give testimony of how they are seeing the transformations of our country from the outside”, she said.
El Salvador’s session was entitled “The transformation that no one saw coming”, referring to the radical change the country has undergone after decades of insecurity and economic stagnation. “Let’s remember that a few years ago El Salvador was positioned as the most violent country, that in the last three decades it grew only 1%, a stagnant country. Today, however, we have managed to eliminate the barrier of insecurity and this is valued by the countries”, said Hayem.
The minister also underlined that the comprehensive approach implemented by the government, which includes the elimination of bureaucracy and the promotion of a safe environment for investments, has been key to lead the country towards growth and development. This model has attracted international attention and has positioned El Salvador as an example for other nations in terms of its economic strategies and its approach to fighting crime.
Hayem reaffirmed the Ministry of Economy’s commitment to measures that continue to benefit the population, attract investments and prioritize social welfare.
