The Italian Government has allocated an additional 9 million Euros to expand the “Housing Cooperatives Project” in El Salvador, as the project already had an investment of US$19.1 million. In this regard, the Minister of Housing, Michelle Sol, has met with the Ambassador of Italy in El Salvador, Paolo Emanuele Rozo Sordini, to discuss ongoing cooperation projects.
Italian cooperation, through the Agencia Italiana de Cooperación para el Desarrollo (AICS),is financing the construction of social housing for cooperatives in the area. This funding seeks to improve the quality of life and help 362 families who lack an adequate and proper place to live in the Historic Center of San Salvador.
It was also emphasized that the development of the project continues in specific areas such as Barrio San Esteban and Barrio Candelaria, among others, with the objective of providing a decent and accessible housing solution for these families. The authorities highlighted the importance of this international collaboration to address the housing deficit in the country.
Minister Sol and Ambassador Sordini highlighted the positive impact of this investment, which will not only provide adequate housing, but will also contribute to the revitalization of the Historic Center of San Salvador, improving the environment and promoting the social and economic development of the community.
