The 22nd Unión Tourism Fair concluded with a resounding success, consolidating its position as a driver of economic and tourism development for the eastern part of the country. The event, which took place from august 1 to 6, brought together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and local brands. For a week, the Municipal Sports Complex was the epicenter of culture, commerce, and entertainment for thousands of visitors.

The inauguration was attended by Leticia Escobar, president of Camarasal, who supported the regional initiative. Accompanying Carolina Ortez, president of the La Unión branch, Escobar, she highlighted the importance of these events for economic growth. The Chamber of Commerce reiterated its commitment to strengthening the business community, especially in areas outside the metropolitan area.
The president of Camarasal affirmed that tourism and commerce are engines of growth, especially when the commitment comes from the local level. The fair was a clear demonstration of how, from the regions, a real and sustainable impact can be generated. These types of events are crucial for promoting economic activity and showcasing the cultural riches of each department.

The fair’s program was very varied, attracting a large audience. There were parades with peace bands and high school horses, musical performances, a pupusa feast, children’s activities, and a wide range of food. Attendance is estimated to have exceeded 12,000 people, with a symbolic $1.00 entrance fee contributing to the event costs.
The Chamber of Commerce expressed its gratitude to the companies that made the event possible. This event is emerging as an important platform for local entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services. The success of the fair demonstrates that there is great tourism and commercial potential in La Unión and that these types of initiatives are key to exploiting it.
The result of the fair was not only the sale of products, but also a boost to the local economy and the promotion of the culture of eastern El Salvador. The event made it clear that collaboration between the private sector and communities can have a significant impact, attracting both salvadorans and tourists from other regions.
