Canadian businessman John McBride, recognized for his business leadership and global vision, announced the opening of his second company in El Salvador: TNA South, commercially known as Cielo Norte Aviación (CNA) a company allied with the international consortium True North Airways of Canada. This initiative represents a direct investment in El Salvador exceeding US$1.5 million and, as such, marks a milestone for the country by attracting foreign direct investment in the aviation sector, strengthening the generation of technical jobs, air tourism, and national economic growth.

“We are very proud to consolidate this new project in El Salvador. With Cielo Norte Aviación, we are fulfilling a dream: opening Salvadoran skies to new opportunities for development, connectivity, and progress”, said McBride, founder of the EMPODERARsv group.

Canadian backing with international experience
True North Airways, a Canadian company with over a decade of experience in executive air transport and specialized operations, is backing this new investment. Its track record in safety, maintenance, and aeronautical training positions it as one of the most solid companies in its category in the North American market.

The arrival of Cielo Norte Aviación (CNA) represents a bridge of cooperation between Canada and El Salvador, opening a space for technological innovation, professional training, and world-class air services.

First Helicopter in El Salvador
In early November, CNA’s first helicopter, a Bell 206, arrived in the country. It was flown from Canada to El Salvador by pilot James McBride, son of the businessman.
“This flight symbolizes the union of two countries and the beginning of a new era for salvadoran aviation. Our commitment is to operate with excellence, safety, and pride in this land that has welcomed us with open arms”, said McBride.
The aircraft will be based at the Salamanca heliport and will be part of an expansion plan that includes the addition of an executive jet and other aircraft in the coming months.

Regarding the start of operations
The Canadian businessman stated that the process for commencing operations is in an advanced stage and that the CNA team is working in coordination with Salvadoran aeronautical authorities to begin commercial activities in the country.
“We are currently in the certification process and will soon be ready to launch. This project has been carefully designed to meet the highest national and international regulatory standards”, McBride emphasized.

Confidence in El Salvador
“We have complete confidence in El Salvador and in the leadership of President Nayib Bukele, who is transforming this country and creating a favorable environment for foreign investment and innovation”, McBride said.

The businessman, who became the first canadian to obtain salvadoran citizenship as a Bitcoin investor, highlighted that CNA will contribute jobs, technical training, and aeronautical knowledge transfer, reinforcing the country’s position as a new aeronautical development hub in Central America.
