The Ad-Honorem Deputy Minister of Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG), Óscar Domínguez, reported that the coordinated work between the government of President Nayib Bukele and the agricultural production sectors has led to a sustained increase in national food production, a result that is already reflected in the stability of the national supply.
Domínguez explained that, through meetings and ongoing coordination with farmers’ associations, cooperatives, and unions, efforts have been aligned to strengthen production processes in the countryside. This joint work has made it possible to improve crop planning, optimize the use of resources, and raise production levels in various agricultural sectors.

“The increase in production is not an isolated event; it is the result of continuous and organized effort. When there is will and purpose, the results are sustained over time”, said the official, noting that more producers are joining this dynamic of cooperation with the State.
One of the clearest indicators of this sustained increase is that there have been no food shortages throughout the year, confirming that domestic production has been sufficient to meet internal demand. According to Domínguez, this stability is a direct result of productive growth and the technical support provided to farmers.

The Deputy minister emphasized that strengthening domestic production also helps reduce dependence on external factors and provides greater certainty for both producers and consumers. He also noted that the government’s approach is to continue promoting agricultural yields to ensure a constant and stable food supply.
Finally, Domínguez reiterated that sustained production growth will remain a priority for MAG, through expanded coordination with the agricultural sector. “We are going for more”, he said, assuring that the results obtained demonstrate that strengthened production is key to guaranteeing the country’s food supply and security.
