The Fundación Poma and the Programa Empresarial ¡Supérate! celebrated the graduation of the 13th graduating class of the Centro ¡Supérate! Fundación Poma comprised of 51 young people. All of them completed their supplementary studies in the areas of English, computer skills, and values.
The ceremony was presided over by Gabriela Poma, Vice President of the Fundación Poma; Juanita Zelaya de Müller, executive director; and Ricardo Sagrera Bogle, President and Founder of the Programa Empresarial ¡Supérate!. Also present at the celebration were members of the Poma family, parents of the graduates, and representatives of partner organizations, including Microsoft.

“Very soon you will begin a new stage: for some, university; for others, working life. Both are full of challenges, learning, dreams, and opportunities. We are fully confident that the preparation you received at our ¡Supérate! Center will facilitate your transition along these new paths”, Poma told the young people before they received their diplomas.
Of the 51 young people in the 13th graduating class, 49 will continue their higher education, while the rest will begin their careers. To date, 15 graduates have already received scholarships to study at various universities, including the Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios (ESEN) and the Escuela de Comunicaciones Mónica Herrera. Another 17 young people have applied to the Fundación Poma talent scholarships program to continue their education, either in a technical or university program, explained the Center’s director, Ernesto Orellana.

Since 2011, the Fundación Poma has partnered with the Programa Empresarial ¡Supérate! and has graduated 584 young people from national institutes in different areas of La Libertad, including Zaragoza, San José Villanueva, Santa Tecla, Lourdes Colón, and Comasagua.
“Being part of the Centro ¡Supérate! Fundación Poma marked a turning point in my life. It taught me to take on new challenges with commitment and to overcome my fears. Today I feel proud of everything I’ve experienced and deeply grateful for the opportunities it gave me to build my future”, said Alisson Ayala, a graduate of this class, who received a scholarship to continue her university studies in graphic design.

Ángel Salazar, another graduate of the 13th graduating class, also described his experience as “profoundly transformative”. He emphasized that, in addition to acquiring technical skills, the values promoted by the program encouraged him to be disciplined and develop solid study habits, which will allow him to adapt to university and will be helpful in his professional career. Salazar was admitted to ESEN and will study Software Engineering and Digital Business with the help of a scholarship.

At the end of his remarks, Poma encouraged the young people to continue pursuing new dreams, but also to contribute, to the best of their ability, to helping others do the same. “I invite you to give back with generosity, gratitude, and perseverance what you have received here”, he said.
