The Cámara de Comercio e Industria de El Salvador (Camarasal), through its Technology Committee, developed CyberWeek 2026, an event focused on strengthening the cybersecurity capabilities of the salvadoran business sector in the face of the growing challenges of the digital environment.
The event brought together cybersecurity experts who shared knowledge about current trends, main risks, and practical tools that allow companies (regardless of size) to protect their information, prevent attacks, and improve their digital resilience.
During her remarks, the president of Camarasal emphasized that cybersecurity depends not only on the use of advanced technology but also on the decisions organizations make. In this regard, she underscored the importance of training staff, implementing preventative measures, and being prepared to respond to potential incidents. She also emphasized that investing in cybersecurity represents a commitment to business continuity, trust, and stability.

The event included an academic program consisting of two lectures, two interviews, and a panel discussion, addressing key topics such as the fundamentals of information security, the myths and realities of cybersecurity in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and the importance of building an organizational culture focused on digital protection.
Emerging risks linked to the use of artificial intelligence were also analyzed, especially in relation to more sophisticated frauds that can go undetected in organizations. These sessions allowed participants to understand how technological evolution is transforming threats and what measures they can take to mitigate them.
As a complement, CyberWeek included two webinars held on april 20 and 21, which delved into the role of the human factor in cybersecurity (commonly known as “Layer 8 Error”) and the growth of cybercrime globally, as well as its impact on businesses.

With these types of initiatives, Camarasal seeks to help salvadoran companies be better prepared to face digital risks, strengthen their competitiveness, and adapt to an increasingly technological environment.
Founded over 110 years ago, Camarasal is one of the country’s most representative business associations, with more than 2,000 members nationwide. Its work focuses on promoting free enterprise, driving business development, and fostering social responsibility.
Furthermore, the institution maintains international ties by being part of organizations such as the Federación de Cámaras de Comercio del Istmo Centroamericano (FECAMCO), Asociación Iberoamericana de Cámaras de Comercio (AICO) and Cámara Internacional de Comercio (ICC), which strengthens its role in connecting the business sector both regionally and globally.
