El Salvador’s goods exports showed significant dynamism during the first four months of 2026, registering a year-on-year increase of 12.7% in volume compared to the same period in 2025. According to data released by the Corporación de Exportadores de El Salvador (COEXPORT), the country exported 1,484.6 million kilograms of merchandise between january and april, reflecting a significant expansion in the quantity of products shipped to international markets.
This growth in volume indicates that salvadoran companies placed a greater quantity of goods abroad, strengthening export activity and demonstrating greater production and marketing capacity. The increase also reflects higher demand for Salvadoran products in various export destinations, contributing to the performance of the external sector of the economy.
In addition to the increase in export volume, foreign sales also registered positive results in monetary terms. According to information shared by COEXPORT, exports accumulated through april 2016 reached US$2,247.8 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 5.0% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The difference between volume growth and value growth shows that the increase in exports was primarily driven by a greater quantity of products traded. While export volume advanced at a double-digit rate, the value of exports grew more moderately, although maintaining a positive trend.
The results accumulated through april reflect a favorable performance for the salvadoran export sector, considered one of the main drivers of foreign exchange earnings, employment, and economic activity in the country. The increase in both volume and value demonstrates the capacity of national companies to continue expanding their presence in international markets.
According to data released by COEXPORT, based on figures from the Banco Central de Reserva (BCR), the performance observed during the first four months of 2026 confirms a positive trend in exports, especially in terms of the quantity of goods shipped abroad, whose 12.7% growth is one of the most noteworthy indicators of the period.
