La Libertad Costa continues to attract private investment with the start of construction on Plaza Espacio La Libertad, a new commercial complex developed by Quanto Development. This project represents an investment of approximately US$15 million and aims to strengthen the area’s economic and commercial activity.
The project officially began with the laying of the first stone and will cover 11,000 square meters, housing 21 retail spaces, seven kiosks, and two supermarkets, with Super Selectos as the anchor tenant.
During the ceremony, the Minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, emphasized that this investment reflects the private sector’s confidence in the development of Surf City La Libertad and the growth the tourist destination has experienced in recent years.
She also said that the increase in visitors, as well as the arrival of new national and international residents, has boosted the demand for commercial and service infrastructure in the area.
The executive director of COAMSS/OPAMSS, Luis Rodríguez, explained that the incorporation of La Libertad Costa into the San Salvador Metropolitan Area is due to the high level of mobility between the two territories, which has allowed for the planning of works and projects that support urban and tourism growth.
Rodríguez said that the development of new investments demonstrates the business sector’s confidence in the conditions the country offers for executing long-term projects, supported by clear rules and more efficient processes.
The general manager of Quanto Development, Alejandro Cantizano, highlighted the support provided by COAMSS/OPAMSS and the Ministry of Tourism during the project’s development, while reiterating the company’s commitment to the transformation of La Libertad Costa.
With this investment, Plaza Espacio La Libertad is emerging as a new commercial hub that will generate employment, boost the local economy, and expand the range of services for residents and tourists visiting one of the fastest-growing destinations in the country.
