Nearly 280 third-year students from six Centros ¡Supérate! in El Salvador presented innovative technological solutions aimed at addressing everyday needs during the fourth edition of Expo Tech 2026, the flagship technological innovation event of the Programa Empresarial ¡Supérate!.
Expo Tech is an initiative of the Programa Empresarial ¡Supérate! an academic excellence program that provides supplementary education scholarships to public school students in the areas of English, computer science, and values, with the goal of expanding their academic and professional development opportunities.
During the event, third-year students from six Centros ¡Supérate! in El Salvador participated in a technology fair and presented six finalist projects from the Shark Tank competition. The participating projects included:
• Greenly, an educational web application that helps users measure and reduce their carbon footprint through personalized recommendations and learning tools about sustainability.
• Loqalli, a tourism platform that connects visitors with authentic cultural experiences offered by local Salvadoran artisans and entrepreneurs.
• SortlyScan, a web platform for educational institutions that uses artificial intelligence to promote recycling and strengthen environmental awareness among students.
• Parking SV, a mobile app and web platform that facilitates the search for available parking spaces in real time.
• Koko’s Talk, a platform for learning Lengua de Señas Salvadoreña (LESSA), designed to promote inclusion and improve communication between deaf and hearing people.
• Plant Bud, a progressive web application that provides tools and resources for the care, design, and management of plant spaces.

The projects were evaluated by a jury comprised of Emma García-Prieto, Executive Director of the Programa ¡Supérate!, and leaders from prominent technology and innovation companies in El Salvador: Adrián Gómez, CEO of Elaniin; Jose Giammattei, co-founder of Applaudo; Miguel Osegueda, Azure Partner Solutions Manager at Microsoft; and Iliana Benítez, CEO of Vortex.
More than a competition, Expo Tech aims to allow young people to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have acquired during their training in English, computer science, and values, as well as the technical and personal skills currently demanded by the job market, especially in sectors related to technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
Expo Tech showcases how students are able to identify everyday challenges and transform them into technological solutions with the potential to generate a positive impact on individuals and communities.

“Expo Tech represents the culmination of a learning process where our students put into practice technical knowledge, leadership skills, teamwork, and innovative thinking to respond to real needs in their communities”, said Emma García-Prieto, executive director of the Programa Empresarial ¡Supérate!
The Programa Empresarial ¡Supérate! is made possible by the commitment and vision of companies and foundations that believe in education as a tool for social transformation. In El Salvador, this initiative is driven by Hilasal, ADOC, Fundación Poma, Fundación Frech, Grupo Q, and Dollarcity, organizations that contribute to providing excellent training opportunities for talented young people from public schools.
Expo Tech 2026 also takes place within the framework of the 2027 Admissions Process for the Programa Empresarial ¡Supérate!, which is now open to young people interested in joining this educational initiative. Next year, the Program plans to award approximately 900 scholarships in the Central American region, 360 of which will be available for young people from El Salvador.

Those interested in applying can visit www.superate.org and complete their expression of interest. Requirements include being a student at a public school, maintaining a minimum GPA of 8.0 in core subjects, and demonstrating commitment, discipline, and a desire for self-improvement.
“The Expo Tech showcases the opportunities the Program offers to talented, committed, and ambitious young people who are preparing for the academic and professional challenges of the future”, said Emma García-Prieto.
