
Exports from the agriculture, livestock, forestry, and fishing sector reached US$26.13 million in july 2026, according to preliminary data from the Banco Central de Reserva (BCR). This result represents a 10.77% increase compared to june, when exports totaled US$23.59 million, making it one of the leading sectors with growth during the month.
Within this sector, green coffee and other unprocessed coffees stood out, with exports increasing by 9.31%, rising from US$18.58 million in june to US$20.31 million in july. However, compared to july 2025, the agricultural sector registered a 1.43% decrease, while coffee exports fell by 2.26%.
Overall, El Salvador’s goods exports reached US$636.14 million in july, a 6.52% monthly increase compared to june’s US$597.18 million. This means the agricultural sector saw a greater increase than the overall growth of exports during the period.
The manufacturing industry was the main component of export value, registering a 6.53% increase compared to june, rising from US$482.24 million to US$513.72 million. Within this sector, other manufactured goods increased by 8.97%, while the maquila manufacturing industry grew by 8.25%.

Mining and quarrying showed a 33.33% monthly increase, although on a smaller scale, rising from US$0.06 million to US$0.08 million. Meanwhile, wholesale and retail trade, and vehicle repair increased by 384.21%, from US$0.19 million to US$0.92 million.
Within the maquila sector, the maquila of other products grew by 4.92%, while that of knitwear increased by 7.13%. The largest increase was in the maquila of textile products, with a growth of 38.02%, rising from US$6.55 million to US$9.04 million.
Not all sectors had positive results. The supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning registered the largest monthly drop, at -70.45%, falling from US$4.23 million in June to US$1.25 million in july. Exports of cane sugar and other sugars also decreased, with a reduction of 44.50%.

Comparing july 2026 to July 2025, total exports increased by 5.99%, rising from US$600.18 million to US$636.14 million. The manufacturing industry grew 5.68% year-over-year, and the maquiladora manufacturing industry advanced 9.27%.
Among the sectors that also showed year-over-year growth were trade and vehicle repair, with 58.62%; the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning, with 52.44%; and the maquiladora of textile products, with 38.44%. In contrast, agriculture fell 1.43%, and mining and quarrying decreased 11.11%.
In summary, july 2026 showed a 6.52% increase in exports compared to june, with agriculture, livestock, forestry, and fishing among the sectors that advanced the most, at 10.77%. Compared to july 2015, total exports grew by 5.99%, although some sectors, such as agriculture, mining, and certain branches of the maquila industry, experienced declines.
