The Tribunal Supremo Electoral (TSE) reported that september 26, 2026, marked the two-year anniversary of the current collegial body’s tenure, a period during which, according to the institution, various measures have been implemented to strengthen its operations and prepare the body for the 2027 elections.
Among the key achievements highlighted by the TSE is the acquisition of its own building, a measure that, according to the institution, enhances its stability and transforms funds previously spent on renting facilities into public assets.
Another notable advancement relates to overseas voting. The TSE reported that it established 11 new polling stations outside the country because of engaging with and listening to salvadorans living abroad. The institution noted that this expansion aims to bring electoral services closer to its citizens living abroad.

In terms of institutional management, the Tribunal also highlighted the achievement of ISO 37001 international certification, which pertains to the anti-bribery management system. As explained by the TSE, this certification was obtained following the implementation of the system and is part of the measures taken to strengthen its internal processes.
The electoral body also reported updates to electoral legislation and planning instruments, including the electoral calendar, in compliance with electoral reforms and transitional provisions. As part of these adjustments, presidential, legislative, and municipal elections were consolidated, a decision that, according to the TSE, generated savings for the country.
In addition to these changes, the Court has modernized its internal processes, which it claims have streamlined procedures and improved its operational efficiency. The institution also highlighted the signing of inter-institutional agreements and conventions, with the aim of bringing its services closer to the public.

In the area of political participation, the TSE noted that, together with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), it implemented the second edition of the protocol against gender-based political violence, a tool designed to promote conditions for participation free from this type of violence.
The Tribunal stated that these advances are part of the work carried out during its first two years in office and that the focus is now on continuing to strengthen the institution in preparation for the 2027 elections.
