A total of 52 families received the keys to their new homes this thursday in the El Milagro housing project, located in the San Julián canton, Acajutla district, in western Sonsonate. The initiative is part of the Programa de Reasentamientos promoted by the Government and seeks to provide safer and more dignified living conditions for families who previously lived in vulnerable circumstances.
The project includes urbanization works such as access to electricity, potable water, and other basic infrastructure that allow beneficiaries to carry out their daily activities in an environment conducive to family well-being.
During the handover of the homes, the Minister of Housing, Michelle Sol, highlighted the effort made by the families to make the project a reality, as many of them actively participated by contributing labor and time to the construction of their future homes.
The official stated that these new homes represent an opportunity for the families to begin a new chapter in their lives with greater stability and security. The government also reiterated its commitment to continue developing housing projects in different parts of the country to benefit more salvadorans in need of decent housing.
The beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction upon receiving the keys to their homes. Sandra Maricela Rivas noted that owning their own home provides them with peace of mind and the certainty of having a safe place to live with their families. She also emphasized that this achievement represents the fulfillment of a dream that for years seemed difficult to attain.
Zulma Romero stated that the delivery of these homes reflects the government’s commitment to the well-being of salvadoran families, especially mothers, children, and senior citizens who require adequate conditions for their development and quality of life.
Before being incorporated into the El Milagro project, many of the families lived in homes built with makeshift materials such as sheet metal and plastic, which exposed them to various difficulties and risks. With the delivery of these new homes, the beneficiaries will be able to live in safer, more durable, and more suitable spaces for their families to grow.
El Milagro housing project represents an opportunity to improve the living conditions of dozens of Salvadoran families and is part of the efforts aimed at reducing the housing deficit and promoting communities with access to basic services and quality infrastructure.
