A total of 400 quintals of AGROCENTA fertilizers were delivered to the cooperativa El Edén, in Sonsonate, an initiative that directly benefits 78 producers dedicated to the cultivation of staple grains and sugarcane. In addition to reducing production costs with affordable fertilizer prices, the farmers optimize their finances thanks to free home delivery.

It is important to note that to access this home delivery benefit, a collective order of supplies equal to or greater than 180 quintals must be placed, which cooperatives or independent farmers can organize.
Francisco Agustín Orellana, president of the cooperative, explained that previously they paid more for fertilizer purchases, and the already high prices were compounded by the cost of delivery. Now, with government support, they have greater economic opportunities to expand and diversify their production.

Démar García, from the CENTA Extension Agency in Sonsonate, emphasized: “Low fertilizer prices and free shipping are real benefits for cooperatives or associations of producers of staple grains, vegetables, fruits, sugarcane, and other producers who place orders”.
With this government support, the El Edén cooperative continues to strengthen and increase its production of staple grains, and is also improving working conditions for its members.
