Within the framework of the 60th Annual Assembly of the Federación Latinoamericana de Bancos (FELABAN) 2026, which is taking place in the peruvian capital. The CEO of Latin Finance awarded the recognition as “Bank of the Year” to Banco CUSCATLAN El Salvador for its outstanding growth in the salvadoran market, its successful digital strategy of financial inclusion through key products such as Niu App with its Guaranteed Card, the Niu+ Account, Súper Depósito YA and its important participation as a recipient of family remittances credited to savings accounts.
“That our operation stands out internationally once again is the result of the impeccable execution of a strategy based on the vision of our Grupo Financiero BSC, where each product is focused on our clients, always seeking to make financial inclusion a reality to promote the economic and social development of our country, in a profitable, solid and sustainable way over time”, said José Eduardo Luna, executive director of Banco CUSCATLAN.
Latin Finance highlighted that, of the bank’s more than 300,000 new accounts in 2025, 75% were created digitally. A performance attributed especially to products developed by the Salvadoran Fintech Niu App for Banco CUSCATLAN, through which the financial inclusion of young people and entrepreneurs is promoted and a second opportunity is provided to people who, due to difficulties experienced, affected their credit record.
“Niu app is not only an easy and modern application. It is the gateway to the financial system for populations that in the past did not have access to formal banking. That its local acceptance is increasingly greater and that Latin Finance gives us recognition for this type of innovations drives us to continue creating new digital products that make life easier for salvadorans”, Luna said.
Likewise, the financial intelligence platform returned to the financial information that highlights the general growth of the institution, which grew above the salvadoran financial system with 11% in total assets, 11.9% in loans and 14.6% in deposits.
