The spirit of Mardi Gras has taken over Los Héroes! Popeyes celebrated the opening of its third location in El Salvador with an inauguration inspired by one of New Orleans’ most iconic festivities, bringing the joy, colors, and energy of this celebration to the people of El Salvador, alongside the unmistakable taste of Louisiana that has won over fried chicken lovers around the world.

Since arriving in the country in december 2025 with the opening of its first branch at Plaza Merliot, Popeyes has continued to expand its footprint. In july 2026, it opened its second restaurant at Metrocentro, and now it adds Los Héroes to its growth story in El Salvador, bringing its authentic culinary offering ever closer to salvadoran consumers.

The new restaurant features a freestanding design, crafted to ensure every visit is an enjoyable experience. Key amenities include a drive-thru, allowing customers to place orders without leaving their vehicles, and comfortable spaces for gathering with family or friends, providing new ways to enjoy the brand’s menu.

“This third opening marks an important step in Popeyes’ growth in El Salvador and reaffirms our confidence in the potential of the salvadoran market. We remain committed to the country, bringing our culinary offering to more consumers and creating new opportunities through our operations”, said Gabriela Safie, general manager of Popeyes El Salvador.

From Louisiana to the world full of flavor
The story of Popeyes began in 1972 in Louisiana, USA, a region where gastronomy is an essential part of its cultural identity. Inspired by the flavors of Cajun and Creole cuisine, the brand brings to the world an offering that reflects the authenticity, character, and traditions of New Orleans, a city renowned for its music, celebrations, and the festive spirit of Mardi Gras.

This cultural connection takes center stage at the opening of the Los Héroes location, where an atmosphere inspired by the traditional New Orleans carnival accompanies the arrival of Popeyes, bringing a touch of Louisiana’s energy and vibrancy to salvadoran consumers.

Yet, the true essence of Popeyes also lies in its kitchen. Its signature chicken is marinated for 12 hours in an exclusive blend of spices and hand-bread preparation method that gives it a distinct, bold flavor and a crispy texture. This culinary experience is complemented by internationally recognized menu items, such as Chicken Sandwich, fried chicken, and traditional biscuits.

“At Popeyes, we want every visit to be an experience that combines flavor, quality, and moments to share. With the opening of our Los Héroes branch, we are taking another step toward being closer to our customers. We are proud to continue growing in El Salvador and to bring the authentic taste of Louisiana to even more people”, said Gabriela Safie, general manager of Popeyes El Salvador.

With over five decades of history and more than 4,000 restaurants worldwide, Popeyes has successfully taken its signature flavor across borders, all while staying true to the culinary roots from which it originated.
And the story in El Salvador is just beginning. As part of its growth vision, Popeyes plans to further expand its presence in the country, ensuring that more salvadorans can enjoy an experience full of the authentic taste of Louisiana.

The new Popeyes location is situated on Bulevar de Los Héroes in San Salvador and is open starting at 10:00 a.m. at 10:00 p.m. Customers will be able to enjoy their products at the restaurant or via the drive-thru service.
