The Ministry of Housing of the Government of El Salvador has taken a significant step towards property security for salvadorans, by delivering 54 deeds to families in the community of La Universal, in Antiguo Cuscatlán. This action, which took place last saturday, represents an investment of US$25,000 and assures the beneficiaries of the legitimate ownership of their homes.
The Minister of Housing, Michelle Sol, highlighted the importance of this initiative, mentioning that the government’s commitment is evident, especially in comparison with previous administrations that neglected these needs. Of the properties handed over, 81% correspond to women, underscoring a focus on gender equity in access to property.
The total value of the homes delivered exceeds US$750,000, representing a significant recovery for families who had made significant investments without the necessary legal certainty. “Without this guarantee, their investment was left in limbo”, the minister explained, highlighting the need for these actions to foster economic and social stability in the communities.
The beneficiary families have expressed their relief and satisfaction after years of struggle to secure their homes. The delivery of deeds not only represents a personal achievement for them, but also a step towards the consolidation of a secure patrimony for future generations.
Minister Sol emphasized that this effort is part of a broader program that seeks to provide housing solutions and guarantee property rights to all salvadorans. With these actions, the government reaffirms its commitment to improve living conditions in the most vulnerable communities.
The delivery of these 54 deeds is a milestone in the country’s housing policy and a clear example of how El Salvador is working to empower salvadoran families, securing their patrimony and fostering an environment of stability and growth.
