The Bono Agrícola (BAG) redemption program continues to move forward, establishing itself as a source of support for Salvadoran farmers and a key tool for strengthening food production in the country. Starting this monday, may 4, thousands of producers in Chalatenango, La Libertad, and San Salvador are already purchasing agricultural inputs, prioritizing those most necessary for their crops.

“For me, this support from the government is a blessing, and I’m happy because we no longer must buy these supplies. I sell part of what I harvest—for example, güisquiles, ayote, and other vegetables—and that’s why I like to work”, said farmer Dorotea Madrid Torres.

This initiative, led by the Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG) in coordination with the Centro de Desarrollo de Comercio Agropecuario (CDCA), strengthens the agricultural sector’s productive capacity, directly contributing to the production of corn, beans, and other agricultural products that end up on the tables of salvadorans.

Producers should note that this benefit, in the amount of US$75, can only be used to purchase agricultural inputs at UNION LIBE agroservices authorized by the MAG.

The BAG, which is also part of the production incentives, allows producers to access quality inputs, which improves their crop yields and promotes more efficient agricultural practices. Additionally, it provides financial relief to more than half a million farmers.

As an integral part of this effort, beneficiaries also receive technical support from the Centro Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria y Forestal (CENTA), which provides specialized guidance to optimize the use of inputs and improve productivity in the field.

Through the BAG, the government reaffirms its commitment to the development of the agricultural sector, promoting more resilient and sustainable agriculture.
Farmers should make timely use of the voucher and stay informed through official channels. For more information, they can also call 912.
