The President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, held a key meeting with the Executive President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Gisela Sánchez, in which a significant investment of US$646 million was announced for various infrastructure and development projects in El Salvador by 2025.
This investment is part of CABEI’s efforts to support the region’s countries in their economic and social development by promoting the modernization of key infrastructure in sectors such as transportation, energy, and health. The US$350 million earmarked for new projects will enable the construction of roads, bridges, hospitals, and educational centers, which will significantly improve connectivity, access to health services and the quality of education in the country. These works will also boost local employment, benefiting the salvadoran labor force.
The US$296 million for projects already underway will provide crucial support to conclude works in progress, ensuring that they can be completed efficiently and without interruption. This continuity will allow sectors such as commerce, industry, and tourism to be strengthened by having quality infrastructure, attracting new business and investment opportunities to the country.
The implementation of these projects will benefit different economic sectors in El Salvador. The construction sector, for example, will be strengthened, generating employment and training for thousands of workers. In turn, sectors such as commerce and tourism will benefit from improved road and airport infrastructure, facilitating the mobility of products and services within the country, which is key to sustainable economic growth.
With this million-dollar investment, El Salvador is moving towards a future of greater development and competitiveness in the region. The collaboration between the Salvadoran government and CABEI is an example of how joint efforts can generate a positive impact on the lives of citizens, improving infrastructure and strengthening key sectors of the national economy, which contributes to the well-being and prosperity of the entire population.
