Reference fuel prices in El Salvador will remain unchanged from july 7 to 20, 2026, the Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM) reported.
In the central region, premium gasoline will remain at US$4.74 per gallon, regular gasoline at US$4.41, and diesel at US$4.44. In the western region, prices will be US$4.75 for premium gasoline, US$4.42 for regular gasoline, and US$4.44 for diesel. Meanwhile, in the eastern region, premium gasoline will continue at US$4.75, regular gasoline at US$4.42, and diesel at US$4.44 per gallon.

The institution explained that this stability is due to various international factors that have kept petroleum product prices unchanged in recent weeks.
Among these factors is the bombing of an oil terminal in Russia, a situation that has generated uncertainty in energy markets. Furthermore, the ongoing attacks in the Gaza Strip maintain expectations regarding the evolution of the hydrocarbon market, despite the provisional agreement reached between the United States and Iran.

Another influencing factor is the behavior of gasoline and diesel reserves in the United States, whose fluctuations have contributed to keeping international prices for these fuels stable.
The DGEHM reminded the public that the reference prices already include current taxes, as well as the Contribución para la Estabilización de las Tarifas del Servicio Público del Transporte Colectivo de Pasajeros (COTRANS), Fondo de Estabilización del Fomento Económico (FEFE) and Impuesto Especial a los Combustibles (IEC).

As part of its efforts to protect consumers, the institution reported that it is maintaining inspection operations at service stations nationwide to verify both the quantity and quality of the fuels dispensed.
The inspections aim to ensure that users receive the exact volume they pay for and that the products meet established technical specifications. Furthermore, the DGEHM conducts ongoing monitoring of the hydrocarbon marketing market and warned that companies that violate current regulations may be sanctioned according to the law.
