The Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG) is making progress in preparing thousands of acres of land for the start of grain planting in the coming days, as part of the Programa de Aumento a la Producción, a strategy aimed at expanding cultivated areas, strengthening national production, and consolidating agricultural zones in the country.
This was reported by the MAG’s Vice Minister, Oscar Domínguez, who explained that the program continues to develop with land preparation work and the incorporation of organized producers who meet the established requirements to join this initiative.
According to the official, one of the key aspects of the program is the organization of producers, as this is an essential requirement for participation. The goal, he indicated, is to establish agricultural zones that allow for better planning, greater planting capacity, and more efficient use of resources allocated to the agricultural sector.

Domínguez also clarified that the supplies currently being distributed are not part of the previous agricultural packages nor are they part of similar programs implemented in the past. Instead, they are specifically intended to strengthen the Production Increase Program and increase the number of apples cultivated in the country.
Producers interested in joining can request information and apply by calling 912, monday through friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. They will need to provide their contact information so that the technical team can schedule verification visits and evaluate the information submitted.
These technical visits are part of the process of confirming production conditions, validate requirements, and facilitate the enrollment of new participants in the program.

In addition to encouraging participation in the initiative, the official also recommended that producers begin preparing for the next agricultural cycle by checking soil moisture, monitoring upcoming rainfall, and preparing their land for planting.
These actions, he noted, are important to make better use of weather conditions and ensure proper planning of the production process.
As part of its support for the sector, the Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG) also reminded producers that they can purchase supplies at cost from AGROCENTA, either by contacting their nearest branch at 6968-2973 or by placing group orders.

In the latter case, it explained that orders of 150 quintals or more qualify for free home delivery, a measure designed to reduce logistical costs and facilitate access to supplies for producers.
With this strategy, the MAG aims to strengthen grain production, expand the cultivated area, and promote greater collaboration among organized producers at a crucial time for preparing for the next agricultural cycle.
