The Government of President Nayib Bukele inaugurated the Conferencia Internacional sobre Estado y Democracia (CIED), a space that brings together politicians, businessmen, students and international actors to strengthen the foundations of a modern and democratic State.
The Vice President of the Republic, Felix Ulloa, together with different officials of the Government of El Salvador, inaugurated the first day of the International Conference on State and Democracy, which highlights the achievements obtained during the administration of President Bukele, in favor of the salvadoran population, in the areas of security, education and health.
“The idea of holding this conference was born out of a need, since every time we went abroad we found incorrect information about what was happening in the country, which had been replaced as of february 3, 2019 when the salvadoran people in clean and transparent elections decided to put an end to that bipartisanship that had ruled the entire country for the last 30 years”, Ulloa said.
In this meeting, international leaders and experts in public policies will participate, who for two days will share their comprehensive vision of development and exchange experiences and learn about the work achieved by the government of President Bukele. Among the international attendees are the diplomatic corps, officials from Costa Rica, Panama, Curacao and Colombia; as well as the Euro deputy Alvise Perez.
In the first presentation, the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Gustavo Villatoro, highlighted the “762 days without homicides in the Government of President Bukele (…), with the exception regime we have recovered security and the rule of law has been strengthened because we live in a viable country for education, for investment, infrastructure and above all viable for our population”, he said.
The Secretary of Commerce, Miguel Kattan, presented the paper: “Citizen participation in the recovery and strengthening of the economy of El Salvador”, in which he explained that the country is being reborn to a different future. “We are in a country where it has been shown that the integration of citizens in general, private enterprise and government can generate development and growth”, said Kattan.
