Guatemala welcomes a new banking offering that will transform the national financial landscape.
Banco CUSCATLAN Guatemala begins operations as part of a determined regional expansion strategy led by Inversiones Cuscatlán Centroamérica. This official launch is a direct result of Inversiones Cuscatlán’s strategic vision and customer-centric business model, realized through the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Banco Inmobiliario.
This launch consolidates a proven track record of growth and internationalization: in El Salvador, Banco CUSCATLAN has been recognized as the Best Bank in the Country in 2024 by Latin Finance, Euromoney, The Banker, and Global Finance, highlighting its leadership in housing, credit cards, and digital transformation. Meanwhile, in Honduras, in just two years of operation, it has positioned itself as the fastest-growing bank in the country in 2024, demonstrating the effectiveness and strength of its regional model. Guatemala now joins this story with a modern, accessible, and digital banking offering, designed to transform the financial experience of guatemalans.
Federico Nasser Facussé, President of Inversiones Cuscatlán Centroamérica, commented: “The completion of this transaction represents an important step in our growth strategy in the region. We thank the regulators for the trust they have placed in us and reaffirm our commitment to offering innovative financial products and services in Guatemala. Our focus is supporting our clients’ dreams, generating sustainable, long-term development in each country where we operate because we believe in Guatemala and we believe in Central America”.

Rafael Buonafina, general manager, commented: “At Banco CUSCATLAN Guatemala, we believe that a smile is also part of financial service. We are driven by a commitment to providing friendly, humane, and excellent service, backed by innovative products and solutions that truly support our clients at every stage of their financial lives”.
Banco CUSCATLAN Guatemala begins operations with a robust infrastructure: 48 branches, 31 banking agents, and nationwide coverage through the 5B network, with more than 2,700 ATMs. The new Cuscatlán 3.0 app, a state-of-the-art digital platform already established in El Salvador and Honduras, is also officially launched.
The strategy in Guatemala focuses on strengthening personal banking, promoting SME banking, and constantly innovating its products and services, offering a friendly, modern, comprehensive, and specialized banking service to the guatemalan people.
