The Ministry of Finance announced extended service hours as part of measures to facilitate taxpayers’ compliance with the Income Tax return filing deadline, which is this thursday, april 30.
According to the institution, the measure responds to the increased demand for services during the final days of the tax period. Therefore, this wednesday, april 29, service will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while on thursday, april 30 (the deadline), service will be extended from 7:30 a.m. to midnight.
The extended hours are available at the Express Service Centers and Central Collection Offices located in San Salvador (Tres Torres), Santa Ana, and San Miguel. At these locations, staff will provide guidance, answer questions, and offer direct support to complete the tax return process.
In addition to in-person service, the Ministry of Finance reminded taxpayers that they can complete the process online through its digital platform, an alternative that allows for faster filing without the need to travel. However, the institution recommended checking bank operating hours beforehand, as payment must be registered within the deadline to avoid problems.
The Ministry emphasized that fulfilling this obligation on time avoids fines, surcharges, and interest, as well as contributing to the financing of public programs and services in the country.
It also urged taxpayers not to wait until the last minute, as high user traffic on digital systems or at service centers could cause delays. Taking advantage of extended hours, they noted, is key to completing the process smoothly and without setbacks.
With these actions, the Ministry of Finance aims to ensure more accessible and efficient service in the final stage of the tax calendar, providing greater ease for the public to fulfill their tax obligations on time.
