This destruction was part of legal proceedings related to drug trafficking and street-level drug dealing.
According to the FGR, the destroyed narcotics included 58,620.4 grams of marijuana, 4,937.322 grams of cocaine, and 705.426 grams of methamphetamine.

The drugs were seized by authorities in various operations carried out throughout the country, because of investigations and operations conducted by security forces to combat the trafficking and distribution of illicit substances.
The destruction of these narcotics is part of the legal process carried out once the corresponding procedures are completed. It aims to ensure that the seized substances do not recirculate or pose a risk to the public.

With these actions, the FGR and the Narcotics Division of the Policía Nacional Civil (PNC), continue to strengthen measures to combat drug trafficking and reduce the circulation of drugs within the country.
