The Instituto Salvadoreño del Seguro Social (ISSS) has published on its official X account the opening hours for the Easter Week season, as part of its commitment to the wellbeing of salvadorans during the holiday period. Under the slogan “We join #PlanVerano2025 to take care of you and yours”, the ISSS reported that it will maintain active medical emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in various locations nationwide.

The hospitals that will be operating uninterruptedly are: Hospital General, Hospital Médico Quirúrgico, Amatepec, Materno Infantil 1º de Mayo, Regional Santa Ana, Regional Sonsonate, Regional San Miguel, Policlínico Zacamil, Policlínico Roma and Policlínico Arce. Likewise, the 24/7 emergency medical units include sites in Ilopango, Soyapango, Santa Tecla, Apopa, Usulután, San Jacinto, 15 de Septiembre, Atlacatl, Zacatecoluca, Ahuachapán, Metapán, Quezaltepeque, La Unión, Santiago de María and Puerto El Triunfo.
Regarding the pharmacy service, the ISSS informed that the pharmacies located in Metro ISSS, Plaza Mundo Soyapango, Plaza Mundo Apopa, Plaza Chaparrastique (San Miguel), Unidad Médica Santa Ana and the Santa Tecla Annex will be open from april 12 to 16 and from april 20 to 22, 2025. However, they will remain closed on april 17, 18 and 19. The General Pharmacy of the Hospital Policlínico Zacamil will be open every day without alterations in its schedule.

This announcement responds to the need to guarantee timely attention to beneficiaries, even during the Easter holiday. “Our emergency services are active 24/7. If you need more information, call us at 127”, reiterates the ISSS publication, highlighting the importance of prevention and continuous access to health services.

With this planning, the ISSS seeks to maintain a balance between quality medical care and staff rest, ensuring that no patient is left unattended during the days of greatest tourist influx and internal displacement. Coordination with Plan Verano 2025 also allows for the reinforcement of response protocols for emergencies and accidents common during this season.
