El Salvador’s ambassador to the United States, Milena Mayorga, participated in a dialogue on U.S. financing in Latin America and the Caribbean, organized by the Atlantic Council and Agenda CAF, during which she highlighted areas of opportunity for investment and economic development in the country.
In a post, the diplomat reported on her participation in the event and noted that El Salvador seeks to strengthen its relationship with the private sector to promote initiatives related to innovation, economic growth, artificial intelligence (AI), and logistics infrastructure.
Mayorga explained that collaboration with businesses is one of the key strategies for promoting new development opportunities. These areas range from incorporating technologies into productive activities to strengthening logistics capabilities, which can help facilitate the movement of goods and commercial operations.
The ambassador also highlighted the importance of positioning El Salvador as a strategic partner for the United States. This relationship is significant for trade and for attracting investments that will expand business activities, generate business opportunities, and strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

In her remarks, Mayorga stated that El Salvador is a safe destination for investment. She linked this perception to efforts to attract capital and promote projects in sectors she considers crucial for economic growth. However, her statement did not specify investment amounts, participating companies, or any concrete new agreements resulting from the meeting.
The dialogue, organized by the Atlantic Council and Agenda CAF, focused on U.S. financing for Latin America and the Caribbean, an issue related to the potential for mobilizing resources toward economic projects and activities in the region. For countries like El Salvador, these forums provide an opportunity to present their priorities and establish contacts with stakeholders interested in regional development.
The diplomat stated that the country continues to work with its allies and with the United States, which she identified as its main trading partner, to create opportunities for the salvadoran people. The commitment to innovation, artificial intelligence, and logistics infrastructure are among the areas she cited as key to strengthening that economic relationship.
Mayorga’s participation is part of El Salvador’s international promotion efforts to attract investment and expand cooperation with economic actors. The success of these initiatives will depend on the implementation of projects, the inflow of capital, and the results they generate in terms of business activity and employment.
