She is my Boss came to Central America to tell the stories of powerful women who impact the region. The third season has already premiered and this wednesday launched a special episode starring Silvia Bruni. This episode highlights her career as Vice President of Risk and the first woman to join the Executive Committee of Bancoagrícola, highlighting her role as a pioneer and promoter of female empowerment.
The episode explores Silvia’s vision of female leadership, her impact on the salvadoran financial sector and her commitment to inspiring women to dream big and overcome barriers.
“It is an honor to be part of this project that reflects the strength of women in spaces where we had no place before. My story is a reminder that with courage and determination we can transform our communities”, said Silvia Bruni during the launch.
Silvia Bruni joined the bank in 1997 as Head of Financial Analysis and since then she has grown steadily, holding positions such as Credit Manager. She was the first woman to be part of the Executive Committee as Vice President of Risk, a position she still holds. She has also served as Senior Assistant to the Regional Coordinator of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS)/Central America; assistant to the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce of El Salvador (AMCHAM); assistant to the Human Resources Manager of KPMG, Peat Marcwick. Beyond her professional trajectory, Silvia, with her authenticity and courage, shares a story that is full of inspiration.
“I have been very fortunate to belong to a company that promotes diversity, equity and equality. As a woman and as a leader of Bancoagrícola, it fills me with great joy that there are spaces like She is my Boss, which bring us closer to stories of women full of dynamism, strength and authenticity, because we offer a different perspective that can be very valuable. It is an honor for me to be part of this group of women, and that we can inspire more girls and women that we can all dream big; that with determination, courage and faith great things can be achieved”, said Silvia Bruni.
A regional series
The series began filming its third season in september in Guatemala, with the story of Maria Antonieta del CID, and Monica Najera; and will also visit Costa Rica, with the story of Erica Sirk; and Panama with the story of Aimeé Sentmat. Through the experiences of these exceptional women, the series seeks to inspire and motivate others to achieve their dreams and contribute to the construction of a more just and equitable society.
Today more than ever, women need to believe in their ability to achieve whatever they set their minds to. The global figures on women’s empowerment and gender equality are alarming. In 2023, some 2.7 billion women worldwide face legal restrictions that prevent them from having the same freedom of work choice as men. Of the 190 economies assessed, 69 have laws limiting women’s ability to work, and 43 of these economies have no legislation on sexual harassment in the workplace.
In response to this reality, She is my Boss, a documentary series produced by LA7EM, a colombian production company committed to female empowerment, was born. This series, which already has two seasons, highlights the lives of 18 women whose stories of overcoming challenges inspire other women to believe in themselves and achieve their dreams.
We invite everyone to be inspired by these stories, to share the chapters already available at www.sheismyboss.com or on the LA7EM YouTube channel, and to be on the lookout for the launch of the third season, which promises to offer great stories of women who work every day for a better world.
