The General Consumer Price Index (CPI) reached 130.16 points in january 2025, with a monthly variation of 0.35% and an annual variation of 0.31%. These data reflect a moderate increase in the prices of goods and services, in line with the economic stability expected for the beginning of the year.

Among the sectors that registered the highest increases were health, with an increase of 2.35%, and accommodation, water, and electricity services, which rose 1.97%. Likewise, alcoholic beverages and tobacco presented an increase of 0.79%, while clothing and footwear increased by 0.14%.
Some categories experienced price reductions. Food and non-alcoholic beverages fell -0.49%, furniture and household items decreased by -1.91%, and transportation showed a -1.65% drop. In addition, recreation and culture costs decreased -2.02%, reflecting adjustments in certain consumption sectors.

The report also highlights specific variations in everyday consumer products. Among the most notable increases were potatoes (0.16%), lemons (0.05%), special gasoline (0.03%), lunch (0.03%) and oranges (0.02%). In contrast, decreases were reported for tomato (-0.05%), güisquil (-0.04%), chicken egg (-0.03%), cost of air travel (-0.02%) and watermelon (-0.02%).
Price variations respond to factors such as supply and demand, weather conditions and raw material costs worldwide. While some commodities increased due to adjustments in production, others reflect reductions due to stabilization in their costs.
