What began as a digital content project in social networks, today has become a symbol of love and solidarity. Oscar and Tatiana, a young couple of salvadoran youtubers who began creating content in 2021, have moved the country by turning the deepest pain into a hopeful purpose: La Casa de Mateo, a foundation in honor of their son, which today benefits mothers in vulnerable situations within the Hospital de Niños Benjamín Bloom.

The story began on september 29, 2023, when the couple discovered they would be parents. The joy grew until january 30, 2024, when they excitedly revealed the gender of their baby: it would be a boy, whom they decided to name Mateo, a name that means “gift from God”.

The pregnancy progressed with excitement, until complications arose on april 27, 2024. That same day, Mateo was born and, against all odds, he was able to share a precious and emotional time of life with his parents. Oscar and Tatiana made the most of every moment with him, documenting in their channel the most intense experience of their lives.
On june 12, Oscar shared that they had been at Hospital de Niños Benjamín Bloom for 22 days, accompanying Mateo’s struggle and learning the stories of many mothers who, like them, were facing moments of uncertainty. Moved by these realities, on june 26 they organized an initiative called “The Night of Chairs”, in which they offered support to the mothers who spent tirelessly with their hospitalized children.

It was then that they understood the great need within the hospital. But the most painful news came on June 28, 2024, when Oscar announced through his YouTube channel that Mateo had passed away. The next day, on june 29, thousands of followers virtually joined the last goodbye, leaving messages of affection and solidarity to the couple.
However, far from giving up on the loss, Oscar and Tatiana found in their son an eternal inspiration. On july 8, 2024, they announced the creation of La Casa de Mateo, a foundation aimed at providing laundry, shower, emotional, psychological and spiritual support to mothers of children admitted to Hospital Bloom.

The project took shape until, on january 20, 2025, the place where the foundation would be located was publicly announced, as well as the logistical and personal efforts required to set it up.
Finally, on april 27, 2025, one year after Mateo’s birth, La Casa de Mateo officially opened its doors, welcoming the first mother to use its facilities. At the opening ceremony, accompanied by family, friends and supporters, Oscar and Tatiana thanked their son for the legacy of love he has left behind.

“Mateo taught us that even such a short life can leave an eternal mark. Today his name represents relief, comfort, and hope for many mothers”, shared Tatiana between tears and smiles.

La Casa de Mateo is now projected as a refuge of empathy and real help, born of the love of two parents who, despite the pain, decided to transform their loss into a mission that will continue to touch lives.
