A. M. The nation strengthens its ties with the private sector to boost labor reintegration of returnees. This strategy seeks to boost the economy and offer new opportunities. Thanks to an agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, GIZ and ASI, a training program was created. This allowed the insertion of returned migrants into the market through formal employment, entrepreneurship, or self-employment.
In the initial phase, participants were trained as cashiers or warehouse assistants. Labor intermediation with private companies facilitated their access to jobs.
The initiative is also supported by the Sistema de la Integración Centroamericana (SICA), through SISCA. This underscores the regional commitment to social and economic integration.
The FOME strategy (Tailor-made Enterprise Training) was implemented. This methodology, with curricula designed in conjunction with companies, ensures greater employability.
This experience led to the creation of PROLAB, a protocol for labor reintegration. This instrument seeks to strengthen coordination between entities, facilitating access to employment.
PROLAB benefits returnees with opportunities and companies with trained personnel. Director María Elena Beltrán highlighted the institutionalization of coordination under a human rights approach.
ASI President, Jorge Salvador Arriaza, highlighted the importance of human talent. He congratulated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its work in the reintegration of returnees to the productive life of the country.
